Launching Find Humane!
Find Humane helps people discover humanely raised animal products. It's free and it’s available through a browser as well as in the Apple and Google app stores.
The main features are:
A map to find locations that carry certified products,
A delivery tab to get certified products delivered frozen (and in some cases, fresh) to your door,
A filter tab to easily switch between different levels of minimum certifications based on ASPCA recommendations (we also suggest checking out recommendations from the Animal Welfare Institute and Farm Forward),
A detailed filter section for fine-tuned searches such as particular certifications, animal type, farming practices such as regenerative agriculture, etc,
Product details including pictures (where available), and
The ability to search on the map, delivery tab, and location pages to quickly find what you’re looking for.
This is certainly a version 1 as there’s still a lot of work left to do. In particular, there are a lot of certified locations and products to add.
As of this writing, we have 304 products across 4,446 locations. Highlights include:
All Whole Foods locations with currently the broadest selection of certified products
All locations carrying Hart Dairy certified products
All locations carrying First Light Farms certified products
All locations carrying RAW FARM certified products
And more
Find Humane is currently a sole proprietorship and self-funded. We have ads on the map for delivery services but only for those that meet our default filter minimum certification standards of Outdoor Access (ASPCA-Recommended). Clicking on those ads provides a discount code for you, and if you purchase with that code, that helps fund our infrastructure costs and further development. Otherwise, if you’d like to donate to fund our development, please sign up for a Substack subscription.
The infrastructure for Find Humane should be able to handle a significant number of users but there may be some growing pains as usage grows.
